SmartPlant Markup Plus Version
10.0 (2019)

The following applies if you are using a version of the software before Update 33 and SmartPlant Markup Plus Server 2019 SP 1 or earlier. For the latest information, see File viewing problems.

Problem

You cannot view a large Microsoft Office, HTML, or HTM file using the View and Markup page.

Common Cause

You might encounter this problem if the file:

  • Has a large number of images.

  • Contains thousands of pages.

  • Is a Microsoft Office file containing macros.

Solution

If you are trying to view a Microsoft Office file, test intermediate XPS conversion by opening the file in Microsoft Office on the SmartPlant Markup Plus Server and doing one of the following:

  • Click the File > Export > Create PDF/XPS Document > Create PDF/XPS.

  • Save the file as an XPS Document.

  • Print the file using the CSF Writer.

Record the time it takes to convert to XPS and follow the below steps to adjust the timeout value.

  1. Log on to the SmartPlant Markup Plus server as an administrator.

  2. Open the BIPrint.ini file delivered to the [installation location]\SmartPlant\Markup\Brava! Enterprise\CSFWriter folder.

    If you are using a version prior to SmartPlant Markup Plus 2019 Service Pack 1, the folder is: [installation location]\SmartPlant\Markup\Blazon\Blazon Enterprise\CSFWriter.

  3. Increase the following timeout value, and save the changes:

    [PrintJobTimeout]

    value=1200

    SHARED Tip This value is in seconds. Higher values such as 2400 or 4800 are required for very large files.

  4. Open the jpservice.config and jpconsole.exe.config files delivered to the [installation location]\SmartPlant\Markup\Brava! Enterprise\JobProcessor folder.

    If you are using a version prior to SmartPlant Markup Plus 2019 Service Pack 1, the folder is: [installation location]\SmartPlant\Markup\Blazon\Blazon Enterprise\JobProcessor.

  5. Increase these timeout values to the following:

    add key="DefaultTimeoutInSeconds"

    value="12000"/

    add key="DefaultStepTimeoutInSeconds"

    value="6000"/

  6. Click Start > Administrative Tools > Services.

  7. Restart the Brava! Job Processor service.

    If you are using a version prior to SmartPlant Markup Plus 2019 Service Pack 1, the job processor service is called Blazon Job Processor.
