A conflict can occur when an object claimed from the higher configuration or plant has different values from the higher configuration or plant object based on the design basis. You must resolve the conflicts before the object can be merged into the higher configuration or plant.

How do you resolve conflicts?

You can resolve conflicts by comparing an object at the project level with the object at the higher configuration level. This shows any differences in the project level object compared to the original design basis found at the higher configuration level.

The options you have to resolve the object conflicts are:

  • Merge the lower configuration object with the value as claimed from the higher configuration

  • Merge the lower configuration object with a new value from the higher configuration

  • Merge the lower configuration object and update the value in the higher configuration

Any conflicts occurring between the project objects and the original as-built objects must be resolved by deciding which data is correct. This may involve communication with other projects, teams, and experts to determine the correct value and creates the opportunity for focused conversation and collaborative decision making within your organization.

  1. In the Summary pane, click the object displayed with the Item is in Conflict Tag warning icon.

  2. In the Resolve Conflicts section, resolve the conflict by selecting the required object property or relationship option and choosing the required parameters that are to be merged.

  3. Click SAVE & RESOLVE.

  • When a conflict is resolved, the indicator is removed from the object and the counts reflect the change.

  • All the conflicts must be resolved before the MERGE command is enabled. For more information, see Merge command.
