Problem

You cannot locate a saved file after you open and save the file using the Save File As option when using Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Solution

When you download a file using Internet Explorer, you can either download the file to your Downloads folder or open and save the file. If you open and save the file, you are unable to locate the saved file because it is saved to a temporary folder that you might not be able to locate.

We suggest using the download option, so you can easily find the file in your Downloads folder
