The Insert Historical Revision command allows you to insert a superseded revision in a document between the current and superseded revisions or between two superseded revisions. The revision is inserted with a date that falls before the selected revision and after the previous revision.

Revised documents must be signed off before they can have a historical revision inserted.

  1. Select a document revision before which you want to insert a historical revision, and select Actions > Insert Historical Revision.

What can you see in the Insert Historical Revision page?

In the Insert Historical Revision page, you can see the following sections:

    • Historical revision information - displays the revision scheme, the major revision, the minor revision, and allows you to choose the issue date before the selected revision date.

    • Previous revision information - displays the major revision, the minor revision, and the issue date of the SUPERSEDED revision (read only).

    • Selected revision information - displays the major revision, the minor revision, and the issue date of the CURRENT or SUPERSEDED revision (read only).

  2. In the Insert Historical Revision > Historical revision information section, select an issue date for a revision before the creation date of the selected revision of the document, and click NEXT.

  3. In the New Files page, choose the revision(s) to insert in the document, and click FINISH.
