Check out the CMF file and update the attached files

  1. Log on to the SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client.

  2. Click Find > Integration > Schema Documents.

    You must be logged on to SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client with a schema administrator role to access the commands on the Integration menu.

  3. In the Find Schema Documents dialog box, click OK.

  4. Right-click the CMF_Ver document, and click Edit > Check Out.

  5. Browse to the location to where you want to check out the file. (The My Documents folder is the default location).

  6. Click OK.

  7. Using Windows Explorer, browse to the location where the CMF_ver schema document is checked out.

    • If you have installed the SmartPlant Foundation, select the SmartPlant Master Tag registry Schema files: SPOIntegrationForMTR.xml and MTRIntegration.xml.

    • If you have installed the SmartPlant Foundation with SPO/E Core database, select the SmartPlant Master Tag registry Schema file: MTRIntegration.xml.

  8. Backup the checked out SmartPlant Master Tag Registry Schema files (.xml).

  9. To locate the required files, replace the existing schema files at CMF_ver document checked out location with the following SmartPlant Master Tag Registry Schema files (.xml) located at Smart Community. For more information, see Find sample data on Smart Community.

    • For SmartPlant Foundation, replace the existing files with SPOIntegrationForMTR.xml, and MTRIntegration.xml.

    • For SmartPlant Foundation with SPO/E Core database, replace the existing files with MTRIntegration.xml.

  • If you have named the SmartPlant Master Tag Registry Schema files (.xml) other than the suggested names, you must rename the files to the customized names. These files are delivered at Smart Community. For more information, see Find sample data on Smart Community.

  • Then rename the value of the configs in the ConfigBlock with the customized names. For example:

<ConfigBlock Configs="MTRIntegration.xml,SPF 2014 R3" IsValidated="False">

<ConfigBlock Configs="SPF 2014 R3,SPOIntegrationForMTR.xml" IsValidated="False">

  • Replace the existing schema files at CMF_ver document checked out location with the renamed files.

Launch and validate the schema

  1. Launch that checked out CMF_ver document in the SmartPlant Schema Editor.

  2. To validate all open schema files, click Tools > Schema > Validate Schema > Display Results, and verify that no errors are displayed.

  3. Click File > Save > Schema File to save the open schema files.

  4. Exit the Schema Editor.

The validated schema files are saved in the local folder where the CMF_Ver schema document is checked out.
