The SmartPlant Foundation Web Client server can be hosted on the SmartPlant Foundation application server or on a separate machine. SmartPlant Foundation Web Client uses a specific set of API Services on the application server to communicate with the SmartPlant Foundation database.
For detailed procedures for setting up a Web Client server, see Web Client server setup for SmartPlant Foundation.
If the Web Client is to be implemented as a public-facing Internet site, or if your
site needs to pass network penetration tests, you should not use the built-in Intergraph
Authorization Server to authenticate communication with SmartPlant Foundation. Instead, we recommend using Intergraph Smart API Manager to authenticate communication
via API Services, or you can use another third-party authorization product of your
choice. For detailed instructions on setting up an Intergraph Smart API Manager server, see
Smart API Manager Installation and Configuration.

Server hardware sizing depends on many factors, such as the number of concurrent
