The purpose of the BOM User view is to define the multi position view (MPV) for the Maintain BOM screen. Use the BOM Views screen in the Administration module to define the views.
To create a new view in the first (BOM User View) grid, enter the name into the View Name field and description into the Short Desc and Description fields. After saving this new view, add the required properties in the second (Properties) grid.
All the properties that are used in the BOM module as node or position properties must be defined on Administration > Tables and properties must be assigned to a BOM User View.
Two kinds of properties are available.

Variable, user-definable properties: These properties can be used as WBS node type properties or BOM position properties. Node type properties can be assigned to the node types on the Bill of Materials > Node Types and Settings screen, and position properties can be assigned to disciplines on the Bill of Materials > Position Properties screen. The variable properties are displayed in the second (Position Values) grid on Maintain BOM. The variable properties should have an order sequence assigned between 1 and 20 on BOM User View, because a maximum of 20 variable properties can be displayed on the multi position screen.
