The purpose of the BOM User view is to define the multi position view (MPV) for the Maintain BOM screen. Use the BOM Views screen in the Administration module to define the views.

Bill of Materials User View 1

To create a new view in the first (BOM User View) grid, enter the name into the View Name field and description into the Short Desc and Description fields. After saving this new view, add the required properties in the second (Properties) grid.

All the properties that are used in the BOM module as node or position properties must be defined on Administration > Tables and properties must be assigned to a BOM User View.

Bill of Materials User View 2

Two kinds of properties are available.

  1. Properties that define fields of the Single Position View (displayed in the BOM Configuration grid) to be displayed on Maintain BOM. These properties are hard coded in Smart Materials and directly related to the BOM position. The following image shows the mentioned fields on the Single Position View.

    3. COMMODITY_CODE

    4. IDENT_CODE

    5. LINK_LN_CODE

    8. REVISION_ID2

    9. OBJECT_CODE

    10. STATUS

    11. LST_CODE

    12. LST_DATE

    13. LST_USER

    16. LOAD_IND (Prompt is Reload)

    17. TAG_NUMBER

    18. RESV_QTY

    19. ISSUE_QTY.

Variable, user-definable properties: These properties can be used as WBS node type properties or BOM position properties. Node type properties can be assigned to the node types on the Bill of Materials > Node Types and Settings screen, and position properties can be assigned to disciplines on the Bill of Materials > Position Properties screen. The variable properties are displayed in the second (Position Values) grid on Maintain BOM. The variable properties should have an order sequence assigned between 1 and 20 on BOM User View, because a maximum of 20 variable properties can be displayed on the multi position screen.
