The software supports copying any number of rows of table data to the Material Editor internal clipboard. The options in the Grid Cut/Copy dialog box allow you to specify which data in the selected row or rows to cut or copy. Use the Text Maps and Reference Tables tabs in the Database window to access table data.

  1. In the Database window, select the table data to cut or copy. Select a row by clicking the left border of the table row. A selection arrow indicates that the row is active and all of the data is highlighted.

To select multiple rows, do one of the following:

    • To select consecutive rows, click the first item, press and hold down SHIFT, and then click the last row. Optionally, you can drag the mouse down through the table grid to select multiple rows.

    • To select non-consecutive rows, press and hold down CTRL, and then click each row.

  2. In the Grid Cut/Copy dialog box, use the Rows list to specify which rows to include in the operation. If you have selected multiple rows, you can include All Rows or only the Selected Rows. If you have selected no rows, the only option available is All Rows.

  3. In the Columns list, select the columns that contain the data to include in the operation. You can select any number of columns using the standard Windows selection methods: mouse drag, CTRL, and SHIFT)

    • To select consecutive rows, click the first column name, press and hold down SHIFT, and then click the last column name. Optionally, drag the mouse down through the Columns list to make multiple selections.

    • To select non-consecutive column names, press and hold down CTRL, and then click each name.

  4. Click Cut or Copy, and then click Close.

  5. Open the table in which to paste the data. The table must be in a database that is currently open.

  6. Click inside the cell in which the paste operation is to begin, and then click Edit > Grid Paste.

  • During the paste operation, the software adds extra rows if necessary but not extra columns.

  • The software does not transfer column names during the paste operation.
