  1. Select a component type in the Material Builder tree view.

  2. In the Attributes/Value grid, specify the material attributes as needed.

  • The software applies any material attributes that you define in the Attribute/Values grid to all the sizes you specify in the sizes grid. For example, if you create an item code that includes a range of sizes, the software applies the material attributes to all the sizes in that range. You can, however, overwrite material attributes at the component level.

  • In the Attributes/Value grid, you can enter Weight in either kilograms (kg) or pounds (lb). However, the software always displays the weight in the current weight units as defined by the database properties. Likewise, you can specify Bolt Length and Bolt Diameter values in a variety of units; however, the software displays them in the current bolt length and bolt diameter units.

  • Some material attributes have a predefined set of values which you can select using a dialog box. The values must exist in the active database in a list table. You can access the dialog box and select a value by clicking Browse . Using the following illustration as an example, clicking Browse (1) in the Material attribute box opens a dialog box that displays the long name values from the Material list table in the current database (2).
