Create a New List Table

  1. Select the Reference Table tab in the Database window.

  2. Click Reference Table Manager Reference Table Manager.

  3. Expand the top-most node in the tree view, and select the Lists node.

  4. Right-click the Lists node, and select New List Table.

    The New List Table dialog box displays.

  5. Type a name for the new table, and then click OK.

    The software displays the new list table in the Reference list (on the Reference Table tab) and a row of empty cells.

  6. Click OK in the Reference Table Manager dialog box.

  7. On the Reference Tables tab, type values for the ShortName, LongName, and SKEY. Press Tab to move from one cell to another.

  8. Click Save Save.

    The software saves the table and its data to the database.

Create a New Standard Reference Table

In most instances, it is not necessary to create new standard reference tables. You only need to edit the contents of those delivered with the software.

In order to create a new standard reference table, a reference table template with the same name must also exist. For information about creating a reference table template, see Reference Table Template Editor.

Select the Reference Table tab in the Database window.

  1. Click Reference Table Manager Reference Table Manager.

  2. Expand the top-most node in the tree view, and select the Reference node.

  3. Right-click the Reference node, and select New Reference Table.

    The software searches for any reference table templates that do not have an associated reference table in the current database. If templates are available, the software displays the New Reference Table dialog box. If no templates are available, the software displays a message

  4. Select a template in the Select Reference Table list, and then click OK.

    The software displays the new standard reference table in the Reference list (on the Reference Table tab) and a row of empty cells.

  5. Click OK in the Reference Table Manager dialog box.

  6. On the Reference Tables tab, type values as needed in the empty cells. Press Tab to move from one cell to another.

  7. Click Save Save.

    The software saves the table and its data to the database.

It is possible to create overlapping bore ranges within a table. In such cases, the software always uses the material within the smallest range.
