Click Filter Builder
on the Material Editor Main toolbar or on the Material Builder toolbar. Alternatively, click Material > Filter > Filter Builder.
The Filter Builder opens.

On the Filter tab, type a name for the filter in the Name box.

Use the options on the Property, Attribute, and Bore tabs to build clauses for the filter. To add a clause to the filter, click Add. As you add clauses to build the filter, the tree view updates to display the overall structure.

Adding multiple clauses of the same type but with different values results in an OR statement. For example, you can filter on the ItemGroup property for fittings or valves, as shown in the example.

Adding multiple clauses of different types results in an AND statement. For example, you can filter on the ItemGroup property and a specific size bore. For example, you can filter on pipe with a bore size of 2-4 inches, as shown in the following illustration.

When you finish building the filter, click Save on the Filter tab.

Click Apply Filter to assign the filter to the current database.
The current group remains active when you apply filter. For example, if you have
the current group set to Valves and you apply a filter which filters on the item group
Fittings, the result of the filter is no materials at all.
