You can search for files within the current fileset that match criteria you specify. However, the search option is limited to a string in the pipeline reference or the file name of an input file.

The language for the definition consists of a string of characters and, optionally, any supported wildcard. You have the option of stepping through the tree view to view matching pipelines or files one at a time or viewing all matching pipelines or files in the tree view at once.

  1. Click Find Find. Alternatively, click Edit > Find.

The software opens the Find dialog box.

  2. Type the search criteria in the Search for box.

    • The search criteria must be in the form of a string and can include the following basic wildcards: ?, *, #, [charlist], and [!charlist].

    • When defining the contents of a [charlist], you can specify the characters explicitly, such as with [ABCDEFG] or by using dashes to indicate a range. For example, [A-DW-Z] searches for and matches characters A, B, C, D, W, X, Y, and Z. To match the dash character itself, include it at either the very beginning or the very end of the [charlist].

  3. Specify whether the software is to search for the string in the Pipeline Reference or File Name.

  4. Click Select Next to step through the matching pipelines/files in the tree view one-by-one.
    -OR-
Click Select All to view all matching pipeline in the tree view at once.

The software highlights the files in the tree view that contain the specified string.

If no objects match the search criteria, the software displays an informational message telling you so.

  5. When the search is complete, click Close to return to the Main window.

  • To return the selection to its original state, click Restore Selection.

  • While the Find dialog box is open, you can conduct multiple searches of the current fileset.
