Navigate to [installation directory]\Program Files (x86)\SmartPlant\Foundation\SPFDesktopClient\CurrentVersion\Library\SPO for MSOforSPFSettings.xml file.

Right-click the file, and click Properties.

In the Properties dialog box, click the Security tab.

Click Edit to edit the permissions for the MSOforSPFSettings.xml file.

In the Permissions dialog box, click Add to add users.

In the Select Users or Groups dialog box, click Locations, select the system name for which you need to set the access permissions, and click OK.

In the Enter the object names to select box, type the user name to set access permissions. Click Check Names to verify the user name.

Click OK to close the Select Users or Groups dialog box.

In the Permissions dialog box, select the user you added in the previous step.

Select the Write check box, and click OK.
