In SPO/E Core, you can publish work packages to the Consolidated Data Warehouse (CDW) domain in four ways:

  • Publish - When you select this option for publishing, you cannot work on the SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client until the publish operation completes.

  • Background Publish - When you select this option for publishing, the publish operation runs in the background. This allows you to work without interruptions in the SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client.

  • Schedule Publish - When you select this option for publishing, a scheduler task for the publish operation is created. For more information on publishing work packages, see Publish SPO/E Core work packages

  • Automated Publish - When you select this option for publishing, an automated task for the publish operation is created.

For more information on publishing work packages, see Publish SPO/E Core work packages.

For publishing work packages using the Schedule Publish option, the following software must be installed on the Application Server:

  • Intergraph SmartPlant .NET 2019

You can also configure notification emails and set a work package limit before publishing the work packages to the consolidated domain. Prior to publishing, you must first follow certain rules for creating corresponding tags in SPO/E Core. For example, you must create corresponding motor or generator tags in SPO/E Core before publishing work packages containing motor ot generator tags.

To generate the log file from the publishing operation, you must set the SPOLoggingEnabled parameter to True in the Desktop_Client.exe.Config file, located at [installation directory]\SmartPlant\Foundation\SPFDesktopClient\CurrentVersion\Desktop_Client.exe.config. By default, this parameter is set to False. The default location of the log file is C:\temp\SPOLogFile.log.
