If you have a previous version of the PAS Dashboard installed, you should uninstall the current version, and then install the new version. The license files and the database configuration information should remain when you uninstall the current version. The various views and widgets are stored in the database. However, you need to reconfigure the calculations service so the widgets are updated as needed.

If you want to use a new PAS Dashboard instead of your existing PAS Dashboard, you should complete the entire configuration process. When you choose to use a different PAS Dashboard asset model file, such as the [Dashboard - PlantState Standard].iam file, the PAS Dashboard overwrites your saved configuration settings.

PAS Dashboard 3.6 works with Integrity 7.3.1. Make sure that you have upgraded or installed Integrity 7.3.1 if you plan to use PAS Dashboard 3.6 with Cyber Integrity. If you are also upgrading the [Dashboard - Cyber Integrity Standard] asset model, see the Release Notes for additional upgrade steps.

To upgrade your PAS Dashboard:

  1. Backup your LicenseIMOC.txt, LicenseInfo.txt, and IntegrityMOCRoot.xml files from the folder where the PAS Dashboard was installed, such as C:\PAS\Dashboard.

  2. Uninstall the current version of the PAS Dashboard.

  3. Disable clr strict security in SQL Server. For more information, see Updating SQL Server CLR Strict Security.

  4. Install the new version of the PAS Dashboard. For more information, see Using the PAS Dashboard Installation Program.

  5. If you plan to use PAS Dashboard 3.6 with Integrity, upgrade or install Integrity 7.3.1. For more information, see the Integrity Installation Guide.

  6. If you plan to use a standalone PAS Dashboard for PSI, upgrade the database using the PAS Dashboard Admin Utility:

    1. In the Admin Utility, click the Database link.

    2. Click Save.

    3. Click Yes on the Database Upgrade confirmation message window to upgrade the database structure to the latest version. Depending on the size of the database, this process may take anywhere from a couple of minutes to an hour or more. A message is displayed when the upgrade completes.

      If you made changes to the database settings, a message is displayed on the Admin Utility window indicating you should stop and restart the services.

  7. If you want to re-enable the scheduled calculations service, complete the following steps:

    1. Start the PAS Dashboard Configuration program by either double-clicking on the desktop icon or by clicking Windows Start > All Programs > PAS > Dashboard Configuration.

    2. Click Database at the top to display the Database window.

    3. Check the Enable scheduled calculations service check box, and then specify the Windows account credentials for the service to use. The calculations service ensures you are viewing the latest data. If you do not enable the calculations service, the displayed data is not updated unless you manually run calculations.

    4. Click Save and Next Step.

    5. Close the Dashboard Configuration program window.

  8. Enable clr strict security, if needed in your environment. For more information, see Updating SQL Server CLR Strict Security.

The PAS Dashboard should now be ready to use with your previously defined settings and configuration.
