Each web server must have its own installed certificate. Use the following procedure to create a self-signed certificate.

If you install Smart API Manager and Isogen Web API on different servers, you can use the same certificate for each.

  1. In the Administrative Tools window, double-click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager to open the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager window.

  2. In the Connections pane, select the server node.

If the following message displays, click No.

  3. Double-click Server Certificates .

  4. In the Actions pane, click Create Self-Signed Certificate to open the Create Self-Signed Certificate dialog.

  5. Type a name for the certificate and select Personal in the list.

  6. Click OK to display the new certificate details in the center pane.

  • You must also install the self-signed certificate on all client machines.

  • To install an existing certificate, click Import in the Actions pane. The software prompts you to enter the path to an existing .pfx file and a password (using the Import Certificate dialog box). Click OK to import the certificate.

  • An additional approach for setting up certificates is to install Smart API Manager and Isogen Web API on an IIS server with its own certificate already installed.
