The Auto Straight Split Auto Straight Split command allows you to break the pipeline into standard straight lengths. You can split pipe based on a user-specified straight section of pipe or by the whole pipeline. You can also choose if the straights are to be split using a weld or a coupling.

When you use automatic straight splitting, you must use the Selection ribbon to specify the following:

  • (1) What to split

  • (2) Length to split

  • (3) How to split (use a weld or a coupling)

  • The default is for the split to be applied to the entire pipeline.

  • The default standard length value is defined by the project properties in I-Configure.

  • For small bore pipe, it is more common to use couplings for stability.
