You can configure Isogen to create integration data files during drawing generation in a non-integrated environment. You can then transfer this data for later publishing by Smart Interop Publisher. This enables you to create a publishing data set without being connected to a SmartPlant Foundation server.

Configure Isogen

  1. Open I-Configure.

  2. Select an isometric drawing style in the Project View panel, and then click Edit in the Properties panel.

    -OR-

Right-click the style in the Project View panel, and then select Edit.

ISOGEN Configuration opens and displays the Home screen.

  3. Click Drawing File in the Drawing Manager category tile.

The software switches to the Configuration view and displays the Drawing File panel.

  4. Expand Integration, and then select Create Integration Data Files.

  5. Type a folder location in the Publish Path box. If you do not specify a folder location, the software saves the integration data files to the same folder as the drawings.

  6. Click to update the isometric style with the new property settings.

  7. Close ISOGEN Configuration, and then close I-Configure.

Create integration data files

  1. In Spoolgen click Generate Drawings on the Standard toolbar.

The Generate Drawings dialog box displays.

  2. Specify the settings for Isometric style, Output units and North arrow as needed.

  3. Click OK to generate the drawing.

Isogen creates the 2D CAD output and the integration data XML files in the specified location. After the drawing generation process completes, the software opens the Deliverables Generated dialog box.

  • If the SPF Schema Component is not installed, Isogen does not create the integration data files and records a warning in the message and log files. Any additional issues that occur during the process are also reported in the message and log files.

  • You must Smart Interop Publisher to translate the generated integration data to a Smart Drawing and publish it to SmartPlant Foundation. For more information about Smart Drawings and the translation and publish capabilities, see the Intergraph Smart Interop Publisher Help.

  • Source file translation of integration data files created during drawing generation requires the Intergraph Smart Interop Publisher translation license (SRP).

  • The Isogen input file SPF-ATTRIBUTE-MAP-FILE enables you to extend the POD attributes that are published. You specify this file using Drawing Manager.Input Files.Summary in ISOGEN Configuration. For more information, see Input Files in the Isometric Drawing Options Help.

  • The options on the Deliverables Generated Dialog Box enable you to view the isometric drawing, view the log file created during drawing generation, or View extraction data collected from the drawing generation process.
