Version 2019 (9.0)

  • A new properties view consolidates pipeline and component properties and displays them in a single, dockable window that is part of the Spoolgen user interface. For more information, see Properties window. (P2 AL:7270)

  • The View > Log Files > Generation Logs command enables you to review Isogen data from the isometric drawing generation process. The command also provides a means to save Isogen data to a .zip file that can then be submitted to Intergraph for analysis and troubleshooting purposes. For more information, see Troubleshoot Drawing Generation Errors. (P2 AL:7415)

  • The Get External Data function now supports the setting of attributes at the POD level. For more information, see Example 2 under Best Practices in EXTERNAL-MAP statement. (P2 AL:13513)

  • Two commands have been added to the software to support working with multiple open files. (P2 AL:15560)

    • The File > Close All command closes multiple open files simultaneously. If any file has not been saved, the software displays a message. To save the file before closing it, click Yes in the message box. To close the file without saving, click No.

    • The Project > Close All & Check In command closes all open files before automatically checking them in to the Workflow database. For more information, see Check in a pipeline to the Workflow database.

  • Added information about running Spoolgen from the command line. For more information, see Import piping data using the command line (P2 AL:16098) and Generate an isometric drawing using the command line. (P2 AL:16119)

  • The software now supports using the CTRL and SHIFT keys to select and clear multiple files for check in and check out. For more information, see Check out a pipeline from the Workflow database and Check in a pipeline to the Workflow database. (P2 AL:16633)

  • The software supports a new project type: IsogenDB. An IsogenDB project uses a cloud-ready SQL database. For more information, see IsogenDB projects. (P2 AL:17056)

  • The Drawings Generated dialog box has been enhanced to emphasize the creation of all deliverables (drawings and reports) during isometric generation:

    • The dialog box has been renamed as the Deliverables Generated dialog box.

    • On successful completion of isometric generation, the Deliverables Generated dialog box displays a list of each drawing and each report created by Isogen. In earlier versions of the software, the dialog box only listed the generated drawings.

    • The dialog box organizes the display of deliverables by type: Drawing or Report.

    • You can open and review each deliverable using the default viewer for the file type.

For more information, see Deliverables Generated Dialog Box. (P2 AL:17274)

  • A new project default, Save checked out files with GED in Work folder, has been added. This setting controls whether the software saves Get External Data process changes made to the piping object data (POD) file during batch drawing generation. For more information, see Project Defaults in Working with Projects. (P3 AL:12101)

  • Added information about the following Get External Data function enhancements: (P3 AL:13380)

  • You can review extraction data using Generation Logs on the drawing generation success dialog box and failure message box. For more information, see Generate a spool drawing, Generate an isometric drawing, and Deliverables Generated Dialog Box. (P3 AL:17611)

  • A new flag has been added to the Spoolgen command line for import. The /appendtolog flag prevents the software from deleting the existing log file. Instead, the software appends import processing results to the log file. For more information, see Import piping data using the command line. (P4 AL:18612)

  • Added a Best Practices workflow for retrieving coordinate data using the Get External Data function. For more information, see Configure the GED function to retrieve weld coordinates.

  • Added information about the short description code that the software outputs when you place an information item on the pipeline. For more information, see Information item in Design Elements.

  • Clarified the parameters specific to Spoolgen for publishing piping data to SmartPlant Foundation. For more information, see Publish.

  • Added information about using the Isogen web service to create Power BI reports. For more information, see Appendix: Isogen Web Service and Power BI Reports.
