If the data type of the Smart P&ID property does not match the data type of the mapped SmartPlant property we say that a data type mismatch exists. In some cases, a property with a data type mismatch can still be published and retrieved using specialized code. The code to perform these data type conversions and other special handling is implemented in special Property Conversion objects. The SmartPlant Adapter is told about the need to use a Property Conversion object by putting the ProgID of the Property Conversion class in the Process Criteria field of the MapProperty.
