  1. Insert your product DVD into the drive. If the installation does not start automatically, double-click SPEM_setup.exe in the main folder.

  2. On the Welcome page, click the Additional Software link.

  3. On the Additional Software page, click the SmartPlant Engineering Manager link.

  4. On the SmartPlant Engineering Manager Welcome page, click Start Setup.

  5. On the Details and Features page, enter your user name and company details.

    You may enter any values that you want for the user name and company name; however, you may not leave these fields blank.

  6. Under Select Features to Install, click the heading SmartPlant Engineering Manager to expand the display.

  7. In the Install Path field, accept the default installation path or if required, specify a different path.

  8. Under Optional Features, select any additional features that you want to install.

    • If you want to upgrade your SmartPlant Engineering Manager data, be sure that you select Upgrade Utility to install the SmartPlant Engineering Manager Upgrade Utility. For more information, see the SmartPlant Engineering Manager Upgrade Utility User's Guide.

    • SmartPlant Engineering Manager is always installed, regardless of any other features you select.

  9. Click Next.

  10. On the License Agreement page, select your country or region from the list to view the license agreement in your language and then select the I agree to the license agreement and conditions check box.

  11. Click Install.

  12. On completion of the installation, if you want to open the Readme file, select View Readme.

  13. Click Finish to close the installation wizard.

    On completion of the installation, if prompted, you should reboot your machine before starting Smart Engineering Manager.
