Once the welds are accepted in Visual Inspection, lots are automatically created as per the criteria defined in NDE matrix criteria. For more information, see Apply Non-Destructive Examination for welds . You can view the lots and weld details related to each lot in Lot Management module. This feature is applicable, only if Lot Management is set to true for a project. For more information, refer to Enable Lot Management section in Create a Project

  1. Click Piping > Lot Management.

    The following properties appear.

The Apply NDE button is enabled only for the partially-filled lots and the status of the lot must be open.

    • Lot ID - Unique Id of the Lot

    • Lot Welder ID - ID of the welder who has completed the weld in a lot

    • NDEMatSeq - NDE Matrix Sequence

    • Current Lot Size - Current number of weld in a lot

    • Lot Size - Max limit of welds in a lot

    • Discipline - Piping / Fabrication

    • RTE Selected - Number of welds selected for RTE Inspection

    • RTE Rejected - Number of welds rejected in RTE Inspection

    • UTE Selected - Number of welds selected for UTE Inspection

    • UTE Rejected - Number of welds rejected in UTE Inspection

    • PMI Selected - Number of welds selected for PMI Inspection

    • PMI Rejected - Number of welds rejected in PMI Inspection

    • By Welder - Groups the welds done by the welder.

    • Lot Closure Status - Specifies if the lot status is Open / Closed / Revised

      • Open - If the lot size is 6 and the current lot size is 2, the lot is yet to be filled with 4 more welds. So, the Lot Closure Status is marked as Open.

      • Closed - If the lot size is 6 and the current lot size is also 6, the lot is filled with welds, so the Lot Closure Status is marked as Closed.

      • Revised- If any of the welds in the lot is revised in the higher revision, the Lot Closure Status is marked as Revised.

    • Lot Acceptance Status – Specifies if the lot status is Accepted/ On Hold/ Awaiting Results

      • Accepted – If all the welds in a lot that are selected for inspection are accepted, then the Lot Acceptance Status is marked as Accepted.

      • Awaiting Results – If the inspection results for the welds are pending, the Lot Acceptance Status is marked as Awaiting Results.

      • Hold – The lot status is marked as On Hold, when the penalty or tracer welds performed by the welder are rejected in 3 iterations.

        For example,

In the first iteration, if a weld in a lot is rejected, two additional welds (A and B) done by the same welder are selected as tracer or penalty welds in the same lot. These two additional welds A and B are inspected by the NDT as of the rejected weld.

In the second iteration, If any one of the tracer or penalty welds (A and B) is rejected, then WQMS picks two additional welds (C and D) done by the same welder as tracer or penalty welds in the same lot. These two welds C and D are inspected by the NDT.

In the third iteration, If any of the tracer welds (C and D) is rejected, then the lot status is marked as On Hold.

In such cases, you can select additional welds to test or re-weld the remaining welds done by the welder.

      • Rejected - If all the welds in a lot are rejected/revised/deleted, the status is marked as Rejected.
