Smart WQMS Version
6

This section describes few scenarios or methods about the how the revisions are maintained in WQMS whenever there is a change request.

The designer creates an initial structure called first revision (for example, Revision 1) of a drawing and then might change the design (for example, modifying, deleting or adding welds/weld components, changing weld properties and so on ) based on the requirement either from the field or based on the user’s request. The modified or revised versions are then named Rev 1, Rev 2 and so on.

WQMS captures or records the revision data of the welds so that the user can always refer to the first and latest revisions whenever required.

Adding Welds

Consider Revision 1 is loaded as the first revision. Revision 1 has 5 welds ( w1, w2,w3, w4,w5) and its connecting components are C2, C3, C4, and C5.

Modifying Weld Data

Consider you want to change any weld or component data.

Case 1

For example, in Revision 2, consider you want to change the weld component C6 of weld 5 (W5) to C6A as shown in the below table.

The manual welds added in the current revision should be included in the next higher revision of the drawing with the same weld number as in WQMS. MC1 and MC2 are manual component IDs given by WQMS.

In revision 7, when the manual weld in included in the drawing and the weld data import for WQMS is generated, the manual component IDs C2A and C2B are generated by the Design tool which replace the manual components MC1 and MC2 as shown in the table below.

If the manual weld is not included in the higher revision, the manual weld is marked as Deleted.
