In Smart Weld Quality Management System, you can add or modify the existing data in Administration modules, Fabrication and Installation modules, reports, column items, columns sets and so forth. The configuration changes are made in relevant Microsoft Excel files. There are different sheets in each Excel file using which you can configure data for Reports, Modules, Columns sets and so forth separately. In the Excel sheets, macros are created to convert the Excel data to XMl files.

Weld Quality Management System is installed on top of Smart Plant Foundation server. So, to view the configuration changes in Weld Quality Management System UI, you must load the xmldr files that are generated from the Excel files using SPF Site Configuration site for WQMS utility.

Steps to configure data in Weld Quality Management System using the Excel file:

  1. Open any configuration Excel file located in C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartPlant\Smart WQMS\Models.

  2. Click the Excel sheet for the required discipline or module in which you want make the configuration changes.

    For example, if you want to modify or edit any properties for Fabrication modules, go to InspectionDef sheet. For reports, go to WQMS Reports sheet.

  3. Click Save after making the changes.

  4. Go to README sheet, and click Create All Load Files. This creates an xmls and xmlldr files in the respective folders in C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartPlant\Smart WQMS\Models.

  5. From the Start menu, click SPF Site Configuration tool for Smart WQMS.

  6. In Select Site list, select the site that you created earlier.

  7. If you are using secure site, select Secure Channel (SSL) check box and enter the Web Host.

  8. Enter the User Name and Password.

    By default, type the user name as superuser and leave the Password field empty.

  9. Select Include Default Configuration to install the default configuration for the new site.

  10. Select one of the following processes:

    • Installation - An installation project

    • Fabrication - An inspections project with Notice of Inspections and Report of inspections

  11. Click Configure SPF Site to proceed and click OK after the configuration is complete.
