View > Settings > Environment > Gradient Background

Allows you to define colors to create a single linear (horizontal) gradient affect, or define a top and bottom gradient, and set the midpoint gradient position, or the position of an artificial horizon. A gradient background is a variation of similar colors arranged from lightest to darkest or visa-versa.

To define your gradient background:

  1. Click View > Settings > Environment > Gradient Background.

Smart Review displays the Gradient Background Settings dialog box.

  2. Click Activate to see the default or current background settings in the Main view. The background also displays when you open the Renderer window.

The above graphic shows the default top and bottom gradient colors.

  3. To edit each of the top and bottom horizontal gradient colors, click Edit.

The software displays the Colors dialog box.

  4. From the Standard tab, select from preset, standard colors.
    -OR-
Click Custom to create your own colors.

  5. Click OK to save your color changes and close the dialog box.

  6. Repeat steps 3-5 to change the colors and get the required affect.

  7. Move the Position slider to change the midpoint of the gradients.

In the example below, the gradient position moves the top gradient down just past a midpoint in the Main view.

  8. Click Restore Defaults to remove all current color settings and use the preset default colors. A restore also resets the gradient midpoint position.

  9. Close the dialog box when you have finished. Your edits automatically get applied as they are adjusted.

Use View > Display > Gradient Background to turn a gradient background on and off. The radiant background applies to both the Main view and if you open the model in the Renderer window.
