The Reflective threshold from 0 to 1 option specifies a global threshold that determines whether a material has a reflection. Set this option to 0 to turn on reflectivity, or set the option to 1 to completely remove reflectivity. The intensity settings in the Edit Materials and Assign Materials dialog boxes determine how much reflection can be applied to the threshold.

Example

To see an example of reflective behavior, you can assign the high gloss chrome metal material Chrome_HighGloss in the sample sprdemo.vue file to an object in your model, and then set the following Intensity settings:

  • Base color: 138:147:156 RGB

  • Specular color: 228:228:228 RGB

  • Diffuse Intensity value: 0.78

  • Specular Intensity value: 0.41

  • Finish Intensity value: 0.1

  • Reflectivity Intensity value: 0.49

  • Ambient Intensity value: 0.58

For more information on assigning or editing object materials, see Assign Materials to Elements Dialog Box and Edit Materials.

To see the object to which you assigned the Chrome_HighGloss material in the Renderer:

  1. Select the object in the Main view.

  2. Click View > Photo-Realism > Renderer.

The Renderer opens displaying selected object.

  3. To change the reflectivity, click View > Settings > Photo-Realism > Raytrace tab, and then type in or move the Reflective Threshold from 0 to 1 slider to get the required effect.

The Renderer automatically updates the material reflectivity as you modify the threshold value.

  4. Click OK to close the dialog box.

Increasing the reflective threshold value can significantly increase performance.
