The Smart Reference Data application is both similar to and different from the Reference Data functionality in Smart Materials (Oracle Forms application, also called Smart Materials classic).
In terms of commodity codes, the base functionality and data structure are much the same in both the new Smart Reference Data application and in the Classic application. The notable difference is the user interface.
Specification management is different in the new Smart Reference Data application and Forms application. The workflow in the new Smart Reference Data application is more aligned with the natural, technical way of creating a specification.
