After you have imported the Smart 3D data to the staging area:

Codelist Mapping

  1. Click the Codelists tab.

  2. From the Staging Area Data (S3D Data) area, select a code list node, expand the sheet name node, and then select a code list data.

  3. Select a corresponding table detail in the Project/Product Group Data area.

  4. To map the code list data, drag it to the table detail.

    • You can add multiple piping commodity types (PipingCommodityType, GasketType, BoltType, NutType, and WasherType) to a commodity part.

    • If you are trying to map a codelist to a table, then the software allows you to create a table group, and then create a table detail to map the selected code list.

You must assign a physical attribute to a table to map a codelist to a table detail.

    • If you are trying to map a codelist to a table group, then the software allows you to create a new table detail for mapping.

  • The mapped codelist and table detail are highlighted in green color. Example, Mapped_Green .

  • To view the corresponding codelist or table details, double-click an already mapped item. For example, double-click a codelist,Mapped_Green_1 to view its corresponding mapped table detail. Both the codelist, Mapped_Orange_1 and the table detail, Mapped_Orange are now highlighted in orange.

  • To unmap, right-click the mapped item and click UnMap. When you unmap a parent node, all the mapped items under it are also unmapped.

Short Code Mapping

  1. Click the Codelist tab.

  2. From the Staging Area Data (S3D Data) area, select a Short Codes node, expand the type node, and then select a short code.

  3. Select a short code from the Short Codes node in the Project/Product Group Data area.

  4. Drag the short code from the Staging Area Data (S3D Data) area to a short code of the Project/Product Group Data area.

  • The mapped short codes are highlighted in green color. Example, ShortCode .

  • Double-clicking a short code from the Staging Area Data (S3D Data) area, the corresponding mapped short code is highlighted in orange, for example Orange1_ShortCode, in the Project/Product Group Data area.

  • To unmap, right-click the mapped item and click UnMap. When you unmap a parent node, all the mapped items under it are also unmapped.

Standard Nodes Mapping

You must load the StandardNotesData and the NotePurpose sheets to map the standard notes of Smart 3D to general notes of the Smart Reference Data. The sample data sheets are available in the Ten_Specs_SpecificationData.xls and AllCodeLists.xls Microsoft Excel workbook respectively. Please refer Smart 3D bulk Microsoft Excel workbook sample files that are delivered with the Smart 3D software. The files are located in the following location [installation location]\Program Files (x86)\Smart3D\CatalogData\BulkLoad\DataFiles.

  1. Click the Codelist tab.

    • From the Staging Area Data (S3D Data) area, select a Standard Notes node, expand the purpose node, and then select a standard note.

  2. Select a general note from the General Notes node in the Project/Product Group Data area.

  3. Drag the standard note from Staging Area Data (S3D Data) to a general note node of the Project/Product Group Data area.

You can create a Smart 3D note in Smart Reference Data, by dragging the Smart 3D note to a general note type of the Smart Reference Data.

  • The mapped standard notes are highlighted in green. Example, .

  • If you double-click a standard note from Staging Area Data (S3D Data), the corresponding mapped general note is highlighted in orange, for example , in the Project/Product Group Data area.

  • To unmap, right-click the mapped item and click UnMap. When you unmap a parent node, all the mapped items under it are also unmapped.

Automap Codelists using assisted mappings

You can automatically map the Smart3D codelists to Smart Reference Data table details using the Automap button.

  1. Select the codelists that you want to map.

    • You can select only an unmapped codelist.

    • At least one codelist from that sheet should be mapped.

  2. Click Automap > Load Assisted Mappings.

  3. In the Codelists Mapping Autosuggestions dialog box, all the suggestions for the codelists appear.

    • Initially, the codelists and table details are mapped using the short description. If no matches are found, then they are mapped using the long description.

    • By default, the minimum match percentage is 80%, if you want to change:

      • Select the Min Match % and then click Reload.

    • By default, maximum 5 matching records appear. If you want to change:

      • Select the records to display and then click Reload.

    • You cannot map one table detail for multiple codelists.

    • If there are no matches for a codelist, click Table Detail addrow, to create a new table detail.

    • Once you select a table detail, then all the similar table details are highlighted in yellow color.

    • When the match is 100%, the row appears green.

    • You can perform below actions on the matched records:

      • You can search any codelist/table details based on any parameter through search.

      • You can filter and sort the results as required.

  4. Select the table detail and click Map.

After one set of codelists are mapped, a new set of suggestions are fetched for the remaining codelists.

Import

  1. Click Import ImportIcon. The Import Category Selection dialog box is displayed.

  2. Select the type of category from the Select column.

  3. Select Update or Skip (default) options.

    • For code lists, the Update option overwrites any existing value in the table details for the corresponding interface or company.

    • For short codes, the Update and Skip options are disabled if you have mapped multiple Smart3D short codes to a single Smart Reference Data short code.

    • For standard notes, the Update option overwrites the Smart Reference Data general notes description with Smart 3D description.

    • If Skip is selected, any conflicts that exists between Smart Reference Data and Smart 3D are ignored and data in Smart Reference Data will always be persisted. If no conflicts exist, the data is imported into Smart Reference Data.

  4. Click Start, and then click Yes to start importing. The status of each category is displayed in the Status column.
