Add an on the fly Instrument

Create an on the fly flow meter called F-101
This flowmeter will use the symbol called SP3DCoriolisFlowMeterTy1.CCFMeterTy1.
Configure occurrence properties for on the fly instrument:

Navigate to CMS > Manage Class Systems> Create Class Systems.

Right-click the SDB_ENTERPRISE_CONTENT and select Bulk Edit > Classes.

Click Edit grid .
-
Click Add Row .
-
Create a new class called FLOW METER. Assign Parent Class Name as INSTRUMENTS.
-
Click Save grid .
-
Click Read-only grid and close the window.
-
Navigate to CMS > CMS Component Manager
-
Expand SDB_ENTERPRISE CONTENT and navigate to FLOW METER class.
-
Right-click the class and select Manage properties > Assign Properties.
-
Go to CMS Class Dependent Properties tab.
-
Click Edit grid .
-
Click Add Row .
-
Open the On-the-fly Instruments.xls Excel Workbook. The workbook can be found in <SP3D Installation Folder>\CatalogData\BulkLoad\Datafiles.
For example: C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartPlant\3D\CatalogData\BulkLoad\Datafiles

Select ICM1 sheet.
-
Select all the part class properties as shown below and then select Ctrl+C to copy the attributes.

Go back to Assign Properties window and select Paste (Transpose*) from the right mouse click menu to paste the attributes.
-
Select Attribute in the below prompt.
-
Copy the attributes from Attribute column to Smart 3D Attribute column as shown below.
-
Delete the blank row.
-
Click Save grid , and click Read-only grid .

Right-click on Flow Meter class and go to Manage Properties > Assign Properties.
-
Click CMS Class Properties.
Properties assigned with parent class are displayed.

Select all and Delete these properties.
-
Open the ICM1 worksheet and copy below Commodity Part Attributes.

Go back to Assign Properties > CMS Class Properties window and select “Paste (Transpose*)” from the right mouse click menu to paste the attributes.
-
Select the Attributes button in order to paste as Attributes.
-
Delete the blank row.
-
Click Save grid , and click Read-only grid to set the grid back to read-only mode.

Close Assign Properties window.
Assign commodity code to CMS class
-
Navigate to SRD > Component Manager > Commodity/Ident Management, and click All Commodity Groups/Commodity Group/Part/Commodity Code in data explorer and add IO group.

Open All Commodity Groups/Commodity Group/Part/Commodity Code, and double-click IO group.
-
Add part F and assign CUSTOM rule in the Rule column.
-
Click Save grid , and then click Read-Only grid to set the grid back to read-only mode.

In the tree view, click Refresh .

Double-click part F and create commodity code FLOWMETERONTHEFLY.
-
Click Save grid , and click Read-only grid to set the grid back to read-only mode.

Go to CMS > CMS Component Manager.
-
Expand SDB_ENTERPRISE CONTENT and navigate to FLOW METER class.
-
Right click the FLOW METER class and select Manage Class > Update Class.

Create the following SPRD commodity to map to this CMS class and click Save button.
Create Idents for CMS class

Double-click FLOW METER class to open its grid view.

Click Edit Grid and enter the following data:
-
Click Save grid , and click Read-only grid to set the grid back to read-only mode.
CMS ident is created.
Assign occurrence attributes to data table (FlowMeter) for export to Smart 3D

Go to Integration > Smart 3D > Smart 3D Configuration, go to Data Table Configurations tab, expand TRAINING_SHT_CONFIG and add the FlowMeter worksheet.

Save the record and click Yes in below screen to create missing tables.

Double-click the FlowSwitch sheet and copy data from Physical Attribute column and paste in a worksheet to reuse in FlowMeter sheet later.

Double-click the FlowMeter worksheet, and go to Attributes tab.

Open the On-the-fly Instruments.xls Microsoft Excel Workbook. The workbook is located in <SP3D Installation Folder>\CatalogData\BulkLoad\Datafiles.
For example: C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartPlant\3D\CatalogData\BulkLoad\Datafiles

Select ICM1 sheet and copy the below attributes

Use Excel paste special transpose option and switch the attributes from row into column.
-
Paste the attributes in Attribute Name column.
-
Copy the Physical Attribute column from excel workbook and paste in the FlowMeter sheet.
-
Copy all the attributes from the Attribute Name column and paste in word document.
-
Select all attributes and use Shift+F3 to change to upper case.
-
Copy upper case attribute name in CMS Source column.
-
Click Save grid , and then click Read-Only grid to set the grid back to read-only mode.

Open the ICM1 sheet and copy the below attributes.

Use Excel paste special transpose option and switch the attributes from row into column.

Open Definition Attributes tab and paste the attributes in Attribute Name column.
-
Save the changes and insert a blank row at the end.
-
Select all the occurrence properties as shown below and then select Ctrl+C to copy the attributes.

Use Excel paste special transpose option, switch the attributes from row into column as shown below.

Copy the transposed properties and paste them into a note pad to remove ‘OA:’ present in front of all the attributes.

Copy the attributes from notepad and paste them into Definition Attributes block as shown below:

Make sure that you check Occurrence for all the attributes that are copied above.

Click Save grid , and then click Read-Only grid to set the grid back to read-only mode.
Create catalog hierarchy

Navigate to Integration > Smart 3D > Smart 3D Configuration.

Go to Templates tab, expand TRAINING_TEMPLATE and add the R-ClassNodeDescribes worksheet using the list.
-
Click Save grid , and then click Read-Only grid to set the grid back to read-only mode.

In the tree view, click Refresh and expand TRAINING_TEMPLATE.
-
Double-click the R-ClassNodeDescribes and click Edit Grid to create the following record.

Click Save grid , and then click Read-Only grid to set the grid back to read-only mode.
Export instrument data from SRD

Navigate to Integration > Smart3D > Smart 3D Configuration > Data Table Mapping tab.

Double-click the TRAINING_ITEM_MAPPING and add FlowMeter sheet.
-
Click Save grid , and then click Read-Only grid to set the grid back to read-only mode.

In the tree view, click Refresh and expand TRAINING_ITEM_MAPPING.
-
Double-click on FlowMeter sheet and add Group IO and Part F.
-
Click Save grid , and then click Read-Only grid to set the grid back to read-only mode.

Go to Data Tables tab and add FlowMeter sheet in TRAINING_INSTRUMENTS transfer type.

Click Save grid , and then click Read-Only grid to set the grid back to read-only mode.

Navigate to Integration > Smart3D > Smart3D Transfer Jobs.
-
Select the job INSTRUMENTS and create a new run.
-
Click Open for edit in S3D Job Definition, select Training_Template, and click Save .
-
Click the CMS Idents tab and delete the old entries.
-
Enter the class details that must be exported.
Do not export the class details using the Idents tab.

Click Save grid , and then click Read-Only grid to set the grid back to read-only mode.

Now click Start Job and click Start.
