Translating the text on the user interface involves mapping a new language and then providing the translations in the new language

  • Map culture and language code.

  • Enter translated text for prompts.

  • Enter translated text for current screen.

Map culture and language code

  1. Log on to Smart Reference Data Plus application.

  2. Click Administration > XA60 Map Languages.

  3. Click Edit grid Edit grid.

  4. Click Add Row.

  5. In the Culture field, use the Selection list to select a culture/code combination.

  6. Click in the Language Code column. This filed is filled in automatically.

  7. In the Description field, use the Selection list to select a description.

    The Nls column is read-only column and displays the Nls ID (defined for the language on A.10.01 Languages).

  8. Click Save Grid Save grid icon.

  9. Click Read-only Grid Read-only grid and close the window.

  10. Log in again to the software by selecting the new language that you just created. Proceed with Enter translated text for prompts or Enter translated text for current screen only.

Enter translated text for prompts

  1. Click Administration > XA50 Localization.

  2. Click Edit grid Edit grid.

  3. Go through each row, and type text in the Translated Text column.

  4. Click Save Grid Save grid icon.

  5. Click Read-only Grid Read-only grid, and close the window.

Enter translated text for Current screen only

  1. Go to any screen in the Smart Reference Data Plus application, for example: Administration > Options.

  2. Press F12.

  3. In the Localization Editor grid, enter text in the Translated Text column.

  4. Select On this screen only check box.

  5. Click Save, and then click Close.

You must also create the translated messages in the database using the NLS ID mapped to the language.
