Create Smart 3D import configuration

  1. Click Integration > XI20 Smart 3D > XI2040 S3D Import

  2. To add a new import configuration, click Add Import Configuration addrow.

    SHARED Tip You can select an existing configuration by clicking Select Import Configurations.

  3. Set the Smart 3D Import Configurations properties to import Smart 3D data to the defined configuration.

    The catalog structure is created based on the Catalog Structure property you have set. For more information on catalog structures, see Catalog Structures.

  4. Click Save save, and then close the dialog box.

  • By default, the Import Option is set to AddOrModify. This option appends new data or modifies the existing data in the staging area. To delete and replace the selected sheet data in the staging area, select DeleteAndReplace.

  • By default, for the DefaultProjectOptions sheet, the Import option is always DeleteandReplace.

Create a staging area

  1. On the Staging Area section, click addrow.

  2. Type the staging area name and description in the Staging Area and Description boxes.

  3. Click Save save, and then close the dialog box.

Load Smart 3D data from Microsoft Excel workbooks

  • You can only import Smart 3D bulk load supported format Microsoft Excel workbooks. Please refer Smart 3D bulk Microsoft Excel workbook sample files that are delivered with the Smart 3D software. The files are located in the following location [installation location]\Program Files (x86)\Smart3D\CatalogData\BulkLoad\DataFiles.

  • Some of the sheets names that are delivered with the software may not have unique keys defined. For these sheets, all the attributes in that sheet are considered to define the uniqueness of the data. For example, if the Import option for such a sheet is set as AddOrModify, and an attribute value is modified in the sheet, the software loads the modified attribute value as a new entry.

  • If you modify the structure of an existing sheet and load it into the software, the software overwrites the existing sheet with the modified sheet.

  1. On the Staging Area section, click Read.

  2. Import Smart 3D bulkload Microsoft Excel workbooks that you need:

    1. To import Microsoft Excel workbooks, select the Read from Bulkload Excel option, click Browse, and then select one or more workbooks.

    2. To import commodity code rules, and then map to commodity characters, click Browse to select an Industry Commodity Code Rule workbook.

      To map the commodity characters, you must first load the codelist sheet in the staging area, and then map the codelist sheet using the industry commodity code rule workbook.

      • You can multi-select Microsoft Excel workbooks.

      • You can also drag the Microsoft Excel workbooks from your computer to the File Name area.

    3. Click Next. The imported Microsoft Excel workbook appear along with its corresponding sheet in a tree view.

  3. Map the commodity code rules and corresponding code list values:

    1. Select one or more sheets, the required codelist values, and then click Next. The selected sheet names and the codelist values are displayed under Data Table and Codelist Table columns, respectively.

    2. Select a codelist value from Codelist Table list. This creates a mapping between commodity code rules and corresponding code list values.

  4. To start loading the selected sheets, click Read. The status of each sheet is displayed in the Status column.

  5. To exit the loading process, click Finish.

To view the loaded Smart 3D data, select the sheet name from the Select Data Table list.
