The commodity group can be defined as the first classification level for bulk material. For example, Pipe, BW Fittings, Forged Fittings, Flanges, Valves, Bolts, and Gaskets.

From the Data: Explorer drop-down, select All Commodity Groups/Commodity Group.

Double-click the All Commodity Groups to open the grid.

Click Edit grid

Click Add row

Click Add and then in the Commodity Group cell, type VBB

Enter the Short Description and Description as Ball Valves.

Click Save grid
.

Click Read-only grid
.

Click Refresh
. The newly added commodity group VBB, Ball Valves is displayed in the tree view.
You can assign special tables to a commodity group. Once this is done, the special
table and the special attributes in the table will be assigned to all the parts in
