Scenario: In your Petrochemical plant, a new tank farm area needs to be constructed, and you
want to generate a 3D design of the tank farm to analyze the design and complete the
construction.
For this, first you need to create a piping specification and non-piping data in SRD
and then export the content to Smart 3D application where you can design the 3D model.
Therefore, the administrators and engineers will do the following:

Administrator

Create the required environment such as projects, providing access to users based
on roles, approval processes, copying project settings if required, configuring the
interface, setting the language and so forth.

Piping Engineers

The process team will provide you the Piping Specification information. Based on that,
create piping content such as commodity codes, specification, geometrics and so forth
in the Smart Reference Data.

Non-piping information required for the new tank is available in the Equipment/other
data sheets. Since you will create the piping information in Smart Reference Data,
you can create the non-piping information in Smart Reference Data application Component
Management System (CMS) module.

To create a 3D model of the tank farm, you must export from SRD and bulkload all the
Smart 3D piping and non-piping reference data such as specification, catalogs, and
so on to the Smart 3D application.
