You can define and maintain customized where conditions. You can use the where conditions in Smart Materials modules that need a limited view on the database content. For example, you define where conditions to select specific material for a requisition when running an MTO job.
Technically, a where condition corresponds with a database object called VIEW, which is like a stored query. From the data you enter on this page, the application generates a view and assigns a unique name to it. The module assigned to the where condition can then access the contents of the view by using the internal view name. You can create a where condition using one of the following two methods:
-
Property based
-
Rule based
The Property Based where conditions require the creation of an alias (property) that references the base table structure of Smart Materials, whereas the Rule Based where conditions can be built from predefined tables and properties.
The rule based where conditions is similar to the property based where conditions, with one difference. The conditions defined in the Rules section are joined using the OR operator and you cannot define additional conditions that also have to be fulfilled to get a result. You can only define alternative conditions, which means any of the conditions must be fulfilled.
For property based where conditions, based on the module selected, the required MAPPED_TO record(s) will automatically be filled in the Properties section of the Where Condition Details page, after saving the where condition.
You can not use both rule based and property based definitions for one view.

Only users who own the privilege CHANGE QUERY CONDITION are allowed to change where conditions from other users. Without this privilege, the user can only change his own where conditions.
