You must assign the product group/discipline to the projects to make it available for the user securities.

For the material take off (MTO), you can define a discipline hierarchy.

BOM data and MTO type definition are controlled by discipline. The login discipline of the user entering the data becomes the owner of that data. Subsequently, an MTO job of that type then takes into account only BOM data of that discipline. For a discipline, a discipline structure must be set up, the MTO takes into account BOM data of any discipline within that structure.

  1. From the Home page, select Administration > Global Setup > Product Group Management.

  2. Select a product group.

  3. In the Product Group Disciplines section, click Add Row.

  4. Select a Discipline from the discipline list.
