Object parameters provide additional information about commodity codes, linking the commodity codes with geometric tables.

Object Parameter Properties dialog box

Object Parameter Code - Specifies the code for the object parameter. This code is a unique, ten-character alphanumerical value.

Short Description - Specifies a brief description for the object parameter.

Description - Provides descriptive text for the object parameter.

Ctrl - Specifies the approval status of the object parameter.

Number of Ports - Specifies how many connection points the item has.

For example, a pipe typically has one nominal size in Smart Reference Data but has two nominal sizes in PDS or Smart 3D because it has two ports. So the nominal size from Smart Reference Data is duplicated for export to PDS or Smart 3D. If the item has only one port (for example, for a cap), duplication is not required.

Unit Set - Specifies the name (code) of the unit set.

The dynamic attributes assigned to the columns (ATTR_CHAR1, ATTR_CHAR2, ATTR_CHAR3, ATTR_NUM1, ATTR_NUM2, and ATTR_NUM3) are also shown on this dialog box.

Object Parameter Details grid

Sequence - Specifies the order in which values are entered for the individual attributes.

Input - Determines whether the attribute is an input or output parameter. If this box is checked, the attribute is an input parameter. For example, the geometric data of a T-piece may be uniquely determined by entering a single characteristic.

Attr Name - Allows you to select an attribute.

Ident - Determines whether this attribute and its unique characteristics are used to form an ident number.

Optional - Determines whether the attribute is optional.

Name - Describes the attribute.

Unit - Select a unit for the attribute. Just as the quantity for a commodity code is specified in certain units of measure, the geometric attribute also requires a unit, for example, mm or inches.

Kind of Detail - Specifies the type of detail (nominal size, schedule, size range, and so forth).

Short Desc - Specifies a brief short description for the object parameter detail.

Description - Provides descriptive text for the object parameter detail.

Copy Object - Copies the object parameter code.

SP3D PartClass Attribute - Specifies the Smart 3D part class attribute.

Ctrl - Specifies the approval status of the object parameter detail.

The dynamic attributes assigned to the columns (ATTR_CHAR1, ATTR_CHAR2, ATTR_CHAR3, ATTR_NUM1, ATTR_NUM2, and ATTR_NUM3) are also shown in this grid.

Object Parameter Layout Management dialog box

NLS - Specifies the unique identifier for the language.

Copy Layout - Allows you to select an object parameter from which to copy the layout.

Ctrl - Specifies the approval status of the layout.

Short Layout - Specifies the format of the object parameter short description.

Long Layout - Specifies the format of the object parameter description.
