Geometric rules are used to create relationships between commodity codes and geometrics. These relationships are necessary for building idents. Only geometrics that are linked with commodity codes can be used as a basis for building idents.
Each geometric rule can have multiple geometric rule definitions. A geometric rule definition consists of a component (commodity group, commodity part, commodity code), a dimensional attributes table (geometric), and a definition (formula). To restrict the geometric table, you can define ranges for the geometric value. The figure below illustrates the process using an example.
Geometric rule definition can apply to:
-
Group
Applies to all the commodity codes under the given group.
-
Group, part
Applies to all the commodity codes under the given part.
-
Group, part, commodity code
Applies to the chosen commodity code.
-
Group, table details
Applies to all the commodity codes under that group with the given table details.
-
Group, part, table details
Applies to all the commodity codes under that part with the given table details.
