There may be certain properties that can be associated with class systems (and thus get propagated to the corresponding classes also) but are not part of the idents. This functionality provides you with the ability to associate such properties with the class systems. You can navigate to the provided user interface through the following command:

CMS > XC10 Manage Class Systems > XC1020 Create Global Properties

Then, click the button for class system dependent properties on the toolbar.

In order to enter class system dependent properties, you must enter data in the grid view.

The grid contains the following columns.

  • Class System - Revision: Select the name of the class system with a specific revision.

  • Type: Specify whether the property is of type Attribute or Table.

  • Attribute: Specify the attribute (if type selected is Attribute).

SHARED Tip Once you select an attribute, the type is automatically set to Attribute.

  • Table Name: Specify the table (if type selected is Table).

SHARED Tip Once you select a table, the type is automatically set to Table.

  • Data Type: Specify the data type of the property if you want to override the default data type.

  • Mandatory: Check the check box if it is mandatory that a component have a value for this property, or else leave it unchecked.

  • Editable on Class: All the class system dependent properties along with the corresponding values are propagated to the classes of the class system. If you want the data values specified for class system dependent properties to be altered at the class level, check this check box, or else leave it unchecked.

  • Value: Specify the data value for the class system dependent property.

Grid Toolbar Buttons: In order to operate on the data displayed in the grid, you can click one of the buttons provided on the grid toolbar. The main buttons and their operations are as given below –

  • Edit Grid: On click, this will set the grid for edit operation. If you want to add, modify, or delete data, click this button first.

  • Read-Only Grid: By default, the grid appears in read-only mode. After edit operations are done and you have saved your data, click this button to set the grid again in read-only mode. Please note that when grid is in edit mode, all other controls will be disabled; those controls are enabled again when you set the grid in read-only mode by clicking this button. Do not close the window when the grid is in edit mode; all the menu options will remain in a locked condition.

  • Add Row: Click this button to add a blank row in the grid to create a new record.

  • Check Grid: Once you are done with your modifications in the grid, you can click this button to evaluate any possible errors in the data before you save.

  • Save Grid: Save the modifications done in the grid data.

  • Sort: Click this button to define a sort condition for the grid data.

  • Filter: Click this button to define a filter condition for the data displayed in the grid.

Grid Shortcut Menu: The following options are available when you select a row and click the right mouse button.

  • Undo: Rolls back the latest changes in the selected row.

  • Copy: Copies the selected row in the grid.

  • Paste (Insert): Inserts a row beneath the selected row and pastes data into the new row.

  • Add Row: Similar to adding a row, this button adds a blank row below the selected row, setting the grid in edit mode if not already set.

  • Delete: Deletes the row selected in the grid.

  • Duplicate Row: Creates a new row copying all values from the current row, and sets the grid in edit mode if not already set.

Selection list: The selection list associated with any field will normally have the following fields.

  • Find: Provide a sub string for the value you are looking for, and the software will filter the selection list with the possible matches.

  • Values: Displays possible values applicable for the field. You can select one of them either by double-clicking that value or selecting it and then clicking OK.

  • OK: Selects the highlighted value for the field.

  • Cancel: Closes the selection list without making any selection.

When any class system dependent property is created, it automatically gets associated to all the classes of the class system of that class system dependent property.
