It is often helpful to restrict the Materials selection list on the Cover page so that only certain material is shown, such as piping material.
When you choose a material system on the Cover page, the software filters the details of the material table in the Pipe Material grid. The visibility of the Material System box is controlled by the specification template main material dependency. If the specification template main material is dependent on a material system table, the Material System box is visible.
The Material System box can have a different label, depending on the implementation.
Another way to limit the materials shown in the Materials selection list is to use the first row as an AutoFilter for that column. This behavior is similar to Microsoft Excel.
You can also restrict the Material selection list on the Cover page to only pipe material by configuring specification templates and component groups.

Select Spec Templates/Item/Item Details from the list in the tree view.

Open a template, and specify a component group for the material table.

Select Spec Component Group/Item from the list in the tree view.

Open the component group you specified in step 2, and specify a commodity group and part.

In the classic Forms application, on S.20.03 Parts with Tablegroups, specify for the commodity group, part, and table a restriction to a table group.
The end result is that the Material selection list a specification with this template is restricted to the entries in the table group.
