During the transfer jobs process, you can transfer the Ident and Specification files from Smart Reference Data to PDMS. You can either create a new Job Definition or run an existing job. If you are creating a new job, you must provide certain details in the job definition gird such as Job Name, Job Goal, Transfer Type, Destination, Item Mappings and so on. Run Number indicates the number of times a job was executed.

Transfer Job happens in the following phases:

  • Prepare to Fill Tables: Prepares to write the required data tables that must be transferred to PDMS.

  • Fill Interface Tables: Prepares to write the required interface data tables that must be transferred to PDMS.

  • Verify Consistency: Verifies if the data that must be written is consistent and also runs the Verification Reports associated to the job.

  • Write to File: Writes all the data to the files that will be transferred to PDMS.

  • Complete Job: Transfers the written files to the PDMS Destination mention in the Job Definition.

You can perform the data transfer process from Prepare to Fill Tables through Write to File stage first and verify the results either in Transfer Files tab or Transfer Job Results tab. After you verify the job results, you can run the job by changing the Job Goal to Complete Job. Once the job is complete, it indicates that the files are transferred to the Destinations tab. Since we do not have PDMS interface, you can view the data that will be transferred to PDMS in the Destinations tab.
