  1. On the Commodity Code Lookup dialog box, select a commodity code, and click New Code from Existing.

SHARED Tip The Commodity Code Lookup dialog box highlights the codes that have already been assigned to the specification.

The New Code from Existing button is only available if you are working in a valve component group (identifier V) and if you have not added tag numbers on S.30.01 to the commodity code.

  2. On the Coding on the fly dialog box, view the information about the commodity code and its description.

SHARED Tip The new code starts with "CC" and the next free number in the database.

  3. In the Tag Number box, enter text as needed.

  4. In the Document Code box, use the browse button to select a code.

SHARED Tip Both the tag number and document code must be unique in the project.

  5. In the grid, change the details as needed.

  • After you create the new commodity code, the Commodity Code Lookup dialog box still shows the same number of codes. The new code appears after you click Generate again.

  • You can specify a custom procedure that manipulates table details before generating the new commodity code for a valve component group. For more information, see Valve commodity codes.
