To take advantage of the software's SmartPlant P&ID integration functionality, you can install the SPP&ID Pipe-Spec Test Interface utility to view specs, commodity codes, nominal diameters, option codes, and validate service limits from Smart Reference Data database. The utility setup is available along with the Smart Reference Data installation. The utility must be installed on a computer running SmartPlant P&ID.
After both features are installed, you can use P&ID design basis information for correlation with Smart Reference Data.
No additional configuration is required in Smart Reference Data.

Before installing Pipe-Spec Test interface, you must first install and configure Smart Reference Data. For more information on Smart Reference Data installation, see Smart Reference Data Installation.

You must configure SmartPlant P&ID to access Smart Reference Data tables and assign specifications to an object in drawing.
By default, the software will be available in the following location for installation:
C:\Program Files\INTERGRAPH\SmartPlant Materials SPRDPlus \tools.

Unzip the SPRD SPPID Pipe-Spec Test Interface.zip file, double click Setup.exe and then click Install.
A desktop shortcut icon is created to open the SPRD SPPID Pipe-Spec Test Interface tool.
Role and Discipline settings

In APEX, set valid PID_LOGIN_DESCIPLINE and PID_LOGIN_ROLE database parameters.
The Discipline is set to PIPING.
