You can use the attribute set layout to create attribute based commodity codes. You can use an attribute set both as a commodity rule or as a default set to build commodity codes. You can add commodity group and commodity part information to your commodity code by defining an attribute and including that information in the attribute set. On creation of the commodity code, the attribute values forming the commodity code string are derived from the commodity group/part and the text describing the description/layout of the commodity code.

The attribute set layout is created by concatenating attribute name value pairs consisting of all dependent attributes that are defined for commodity code or commodity code layout. The part information is distributed as part short desc into Layout Short and part description into Layout Long. The part information is always first in the layout string and cannot be suppressed.

  1. Click SRD > XS10 Component Manager > XS1060 Attribute Management.

  2. Select Attribute Sets from the list at the top of the tree view.

  3. Double-click an attribute set to open the Attribute Set Details grid.

  4. To set an attribute layout for attribute set details, right-click the row header of the attribute set details, and click attributeset.

  5. In the Layout Management dialog box, click layoutmanagement to view the existing table names.

  6. Drag the table name to the Short Layout or Long Layout section to display as part of the commodity code description.

While generating the layout, the variable gets replaced by the actual value.

    Layout_management

Example: If the value of the variable #m_commodity_code# is 1000, then the variable gets replaced by 1000 on generation of the layout.

  7. Click OK and then click Yes to save the attribute set layout.
