The component data displayed in the Multi Ident View grid can be filtered for the various combinations of properties and their values. Filtering can be done in two ways.

  1. Using filter line

  2. Using filter configuration

Using filter line: As shown in the figure below, this method of filtering uses the first row, which is also called the filter line in the grid. The drop-downs display the unique values applicable for a selected column (property). You can select a value, and the data in the grid is filtered accordingly. You can also filter the data in more than one column. First, select the filter value for the first column; once data is filtered, select a value for the second column, and so on.

Using filter configuration: As shown in the figure below, this method of filtering uses the filter command button available on the toolbar of the grid. Click the toolbar button and the dialog box to specify the filter condition, as shown in the figure below, appears.

This functionality provides more advanced options for filtering the data in the grid. You can define a filter condition by choosing the appropriate property, operators, and values to compare. The dialog box also provides a way to combine various conditions using OR and AND logical operators. When you click OK, the data in the grid is loaded after applying the filter conditions as defined.

The filter conditions thus applied can be stored for future use as a filter configuration. After specifying the filter condition or combination of filter conditions as discussed above, click OK to close the dialog box and load the data in the grid again. After the data is loaded, type a name for this filter configuration in the drop-down field beside the Filter toolbar button and click the Save button to save the current filter condition as a filter configuration with the given name. In the future, whenever you choose this name from the filter configuration drop-down on the toolbar of the grid, the data is filtered according to the stored condition.

Whenever the grid is loaded with component data, the last used filter configuration is automatically selected, and the data is filtered according to that filter configuration.
