The Multiple Ident View is the middle section of the CMS Component Manager.

The classes in the Explorer view can contain the following, which can be viewed in the Multiple Ident View:

  • Child classes

  • Idents

  • Attached documents or files

The Multiple Ident View can be in the following formats:

  • Thumbnail View: The thumbnail view shows the classes (or documents attached to them) that are in the Explorer view.

  • Grid View: The grid shows all the idents belonging to the selected class in the tree.

The grid is displayed only when a leaf class (a class that does not have any further child classes) is selected.

Thumbnail View

Classes appear as thumbnails in this view. When a class is selected in the Explorer view, all of its child classes are available in this view as thumbnails. The leaf classes and non-leaf classes are represented by different icons. The classes that have child classes appear as open folders as shown below:

To navigate one level up in the hierarchy, click the Up one level arrow.

For a leaf node (which means that the class has idents associated with it), if there are some documents attached to the class, these documents appear as thumbnails here. You can change the way the icons appear. Click the following icon to view the options.

The available view options are:

  • Large Icons: The classes or documents/files are displayed as large icons.

  • Small Icons: The classes or documents/files are displayed as small icons.

  • List: The classes or documents/ files are displayed as a list.

  • Tiles: The classes or documents/files are displayed as tiles.

A preview pane, which can be hidden or made visible by user preference, is also available. You can hide the preview pane, which is visible to the right of the thumbnail pane.

If the preview pane is hidden, you can show it.

Documents or files can be viewed in the preview pane. Select any document to view its preview in the preview pane. By default, the CMS Intergraph Smartâ„¢ 3D image, if it exists, is shown in this pane for a selected class. The documents attached to the class are shown differently in the thumbnail view pane according to the document type and path type for that document.

The following table shows how documents are represented as icons in the thumbnail view when the path type is P:

If the path type mentioned for the document is L, then the document is represented in the thumbnail view with the following icon.

Attached documents can be cut or copied from one class and pasted to another class. Documents can be deleted as well. The cut, copy, paste, and delete commands are available on the shortcut menu in the thumbnail pane.

After making any changes, refresh the thumbnail view.

Grid View

The grid shows all the idents belonging to the class selected in the tree. By default, the grid opens with all the properties of the class as columns. The grid displays the value (except graphical values, class layouts, and ident descriptions) of each property for an ident in the respective cell.

The grid can be opened by double-clicking a leaf class in the tree, or by right-clicking the leaf class and then selecting the Display Idents command from the shortcut menu.

The following picture shows the expanded grid view in the CMS Component Manager.

The first column of the grid always displays the idents belonging to the selected class. The rest of the columns in the grid depend upon the class selected in the tree. Each property of the selected class is displayed as a column in the grid. The column labels appear in the language specified by the project default ZX_CMSLANG. If ZX_CMSLANG is set to P, the label text for attributes and the short descriptions in the column labels appear in the language for the logged in project. If ZX_CMSLANG is set to C, the label text for attributes and the short descriptions in the column labels appear in the language mapped to the logged in culture in the XA60 screen.

The property name or code is displayed according to the Display Property Code setting at the class system level. The class systems grid has a check box column named Display Property Code.

If the check box is checked, then:

  • For attributes: The attribute code and label text is displayed as the column label.

  • For tables: The table name and short description is displayed as the column label.

If the check box is not checked, then:

  • For attributes: Only label text is displayed as the column label. If label text is not present for the corresponding NLS, the attribute code is displayed as the column label.

  • For tables: Only the short description is displayed as the column label. If the short description is not available for the corresponding NLS, the table name is displayed as the column label.

The column names displayed in the Single Ident View are the same as the column names displayed in the Multiple Ident View.

An image is displayed in the column header for all the columns where the value is mandatory. Because these columns are the properties of the selected class, the value for the column is required if the mandatory check box is selected for that class property.
