Material price is calculated based on estimated gross material usage and material unit price.

Gross material usage can be estimated by the system using the following methods:

  • Making quotation nesting: Quotation nesting can be made manually or automatically on article, plate or remnant. The nesting percent is then used to calculate the additional area for compensation.

  • Minimum rectangle: If there is no quotation nesting the material usage is determined by the minimum rectangle required to house the part. The minimum rectangle is expanded by adding two times the compensation value of the cutting technology on each side (picture with green ellipse below). In case the compensation value of the cutting technology equals zero the offset of the material article is used instead.

In addition, it is possible to give rebate of the scrap material.

Scrap = Gross weight – Net weight – Cutter path kerf material

The material price is read from the price list based on used article (selected on quotation item) and customer’s price group.
