Geometry errors can be verified manually.

To import just a geometry, view it in detail and possibly to fix:

  1. See the Import Log sub-window (Figure below).

If the part Error Summary or Warning Summary is found, then the imported geometries have errors or warnings. If the geometries are imported without warnings and errors, nothing needs to be done.

Description of error / warning and name of defective geometry file are displayed in the Info column.

Project Import log view_geometry import error messages

Project Import log view. Geometry import error messages

  2. Copy Item name of failed geometry (Figure below).

Project Import log view_failed geometry item name

Project Import log view. Failed geometry item name

  3. Find out the path and name of the failed geometry file.

Path and name of failed geometry file can be found from the Order Input application | Nestix Attachments dialog (Figure below).

    Order Input application

Order Input application. Path and name of failed geometry file appear in the Nestix Attachments dialog

  4. Open the Cutting application.

  5. Select the Import selection from main menu.

  6. Open the wanted import selection, for example Intergraph Smart 3D XML (Figure below).

    Cutting Main menu_Set Import selection

Cutting application Main menu. Set Import selection

    Import Set work area opens.

  7. Note, that in case of Intergraph Smart 3D XML import, the suitable Control Set should be selected for geometry import.

In case of other import type such as Intergraph Smart 3D Import, Cadmatic, Aveva, DXF/DWG the suitable Import Set should be selected.

There are four supported geometry types:

Plate Part, Panel Part, Profile Part, Panel.

Each geometry type usually has its own Control Set or Import Set. A common Control Set or Import Set can be used.

Select suitable for geometry type Control Set or Import Set.

    Set Import frame_Control Set

Set Import frame. Control Set selection drop-down menu. Used with Intergraph Smart 3D XML import type

    Set Import frame_Import Set

Set Import frame. Import Set selection drop-down menu. Used with other import types such as Intergraph Smart 3D, Cadmatic etc.

  8. Browse failed geometry file and open it to the Set Import frame (Figure below).

  9. Import selected geometry to work area by pressing Import button.

Note, that Import and Save function is not available (Figures below).

  10. To see errors in detail and to run the Solver Checker module, press the Start Editing button (Figure below).

Right panel with Set Import_Start Editing

Right panel with Set Import frame. Start Editing button

Then application automatically runs geometry checking and opens error list, if errors found (Figure below).

    Solver Checker

Solver Checker view is activated. In the list - two warnings

  11. Double click on row in the right panel list. One row represents one error or warning.

Application activates overlapping element and opens an edit mode. The fault can be seen (Figure below).

    Failed geometry Overlapping elements

    Failed geometry. Overlapping elements

  12. Check the geometry and make necessary fixes through drawing area tools (Figure below).

  13. Profile the geometry by pressing Make Profiles button (Figures below).

    Left Profile Actions_Make Profiles button

Left Profile Actions Panel. Make Profiles button

  14. Open the failed geometry file to the work area if the geometry file is found in the Cutting application database parts list.

    Cutting database_failed geometry

Cutting database window. Failed geometry selected

Cutting Part work area_failed geometry opened

  15. Copy (Activate All - Copy - Paste) the fixed geometry to the work area of the opened file (Figures below).

  16. Press the Save button to open the Save Part dialog and save the geometry file (Figures below).

    Save Part_fixed geometry saved

Save Part dialog is opened. Fixed geometry is saved to the geometry file

    Save Part_fixed geometry saved_2

Save Part dialog is opened. Fixed geometry has been saved to the geometry file
