The Geometry tab contains settings for defining the machining mode (for example, cutting, markings, information, and so forth) for entities. You can define the machining mode by layer, color, or entity type. All entities to import into Smart Production Cutting must be defined in the Selected Rule and Tool menus.

Any rules you added display in the table, as shown below.

Selected Rule

Layer

Defines the machining mode by layer. Click the check box and type the layer name in the text box.

Entities

Defines the machining mode by entity type. Click the check box and select entity types from the list (see below).

Color

Defines the machining mode by entity color. Click the check box and select a color type: ACI or RGB

Tool

Machining mode

Specifies the machining mode.

Quality Class

Enables you to define a quality class for entities. This option is available only when you use machine technology that contains quality classes.

Part Layer

Specifies whether entity part layers are mirrored or notmirrored. For more information, see Part layer.

Technology

This option is unavailable.

Attributes

Inserts additional attribute information to entities. This option is available only in customized Smart Production systems.

Use in Export

Enables you to control which colors the exported DXF/DWG file uses. This option is available when the import set is also used for exporting DXF/DWG nestings,

Outer Profile

Enables you to set outer profiles to a different color than inner profiles. This option is available when you export a DXF/DWG file.

To add a new rule

  1. Click the Geometry tab if it is not already displayed.

  2. Select the empty row at the bottom of the table (see below).

  3. Add a rule on the Selected Rule menu. Use Layer, Entities, Color, or any combination of these rules.

  4. Select a Machining mode (for example, Basic Cutting or Marking) as shown below.

  5. Click Add/Modify to add the new rule.
