Bridge connects two or more profiles so that the machine can cut them in chain. Bridges reduce the time spent piercing and prevents cutting nozzle wear, hence reducing cutting operation costs.
Auto bridging is an optional module in Smart Production Cutting, and might not be available in your version.
Click Bridge to display the Insert Bridges options (see below) in the State Manager.
Preview Image
Displays a preview of the bridge. Changes you make to the bridge properties take effect immediately in the preview image. Select Custom Bridge from Bridge Type to edit the bridge leads in the preview image.
Bridge Properties
Contains commands and properties for defining the bridge.
Default
Sets the parameters to their default values. Click Default, and then select Get Parts Defaults.
Bridge Type
Contains three bridge types. Click a bridge type to display the corresponding parameters below the Bridge Type menu. The available bridge types and their parameters are described below.
Straight Bridge
Specifies straight cutting lines for a straight bridge. You can change the width.
Width
Specifies the bridge width.
Rounded Bridge
Creates rounded cutting lines near the profile connections. You can change the bridge width and the radius.
Width
Specifies the bridge width.
Radius
Specifies the radius of the rounding.
Custom Bridge
Enables you to modify bridge connections to profiles. Select a connection point between the profile and the bridge in the preview image to display the Lead properties menu. You modify the connection just as you modify leads.
Actions
Contains commands that apply to all three bridge types.
Unify
Adds the properties of the activated bridge to other bridges. Only one bridge should be active when you click Unify . After you click Unify , select the bridges to unify in the work area.
Bridging rules
Contains filter selections for bridge insertion. Select Outer-Outer profile or Outer-Inner profile. You can add the bridge between outer and inner profiles.
Continuous Insert
Inserts a new bridge that starts at the end point of the previous bridge.
Snap to profile corner
Specifies whether snap to profile is used for inserting a bridge.
Snap Distance
Specifies a snapping distance to the profile corner.
