The Filter Editor enables you to construct filter criteria graphically using display items that meet specific requirements. This is useful for creating complex filter criteria consisting of multiple conditions. For simple filter criteria, Filter using Column Header Fields or Filter using Drop-Down Lists.

Use condition groups to create sets of conditions combined by the same logical operator, as shown below.

To add a condition:

  1. Click Add for the group.

    -OR-

    Click the logical operator for the group and select Add Condition.

To add a group:

  1. Click the logical operator for the group.

  2. Select Add Group.

To delete a condition:

  1. Click Delete.

    -OR-

    Select the condition and press DELETE.

To delete a group:

  1. Select the logical operator for the group.

  2. Click Remove Group.

To delete all conditions:

  1. Select the first logical operator

  2. Click Clear All.

(Example) Create complex filter criteria with multiple logical operators:

  1. Click Filter to expand the Filter Editor.

  2. Click Delete to clear existing filter conditions.

  3. Select the current operator (And), and then select Or to change the root logical operator to Or as shown below.

  4. Click the Or operator, and then select Add Group as shown below to add a new group.

  5. Set the column for the created condition as Due Date. Set the operator to DateTime Operator, IsTomorrow as shown below

  6. Click the And operator and select Add Condition to add a new condition to the current group. Alternatively, click Add beside the And operator.

  7. Set the column of the new condition to Thickness. Set the operator to Equals, and then set the operand value to 10,00.

  8. Click the Or operator and select Add Group.

  9. Set the column of the created condition to Due Date and set the operator to DateTime Operator, IsToday.

  10. Select the new And operator and click Add Condition to add a new condition to the current group. Alternatively click the Add button beside the And operator.

  11. For the new condition, set the column to Thickness. Set the operator to Equals and set the operand value to 9,00.

  12. Click Search to search the database using the new filter criteria.

    The database window displays orders with a thickness of 10,00 millimeters and a due date of tomorrow, and orders with thickness of 9,00 millimeters and a due date of today.
